THE HUM OF FADING LIGHTS /// A P|M|W Mixtape
It’s been a strange couple of weeks in my world, and instead of loading up a traditional podcast featuring hot new blog-buzzed jams, I thought that I would share a mixtape that has been keeping me company as of late. It’s a collection of mostly older tracks, all adhering to a particular late-night-drive-type-vibe. Something for the lonely and dark nights spent on dusty highways, or walks through your sleeping neighborhood, or whatever nocturnal adventures you have planned for yourself. Whatever the case, I promise that it will sound a hundred times better at night.
Below you will find links to multiple download sources for the collection (zip file), as well as a longplay mix version (all one track via Soundcloud). Please share/reblog with others if you like what you hear and or support any and all artists that strike your interest. Stream or download as you wish.
FEATURED MUSIC (click the name for band info)

(stream) The Hum of Fading Lights (Soundcloud / DL MP3)

Please support the artists that you find and enjoy. Buy their music, merchandise and tickets to see their shows. Supporting them is the only purpose in doing this blog. Contrary to the opinions of some, music blogs are a great way to discover new music, but there will only be so much new music to go around if these artists can’t afford to support themselves through their art and commerce. Only use these mixtapes as a guide to find something to throw your (financial and emotional) support behind.

Radiohead’s Reckoner if it was written and produced in the 80s.

i was like “ok” but then HOLY FUCKING SHIT

amazing.

I was grooving along and loving this and then I just cracked up at the sax solo because it’s perfect.

What even. Whoever made this deserves awards.

AHAHAHAH OH WOW HOLY SHIT

Radiohead is actually one of my favorite bands, without me even being fully aware of it. One day I woke up and I realized I had 80% of their discography. I find it hard to actively CALL them a favorite, because they’re very challenging musically, and if I’m not careful, they can depress me into near oblivion.

However, this does not inspire depression. Rather, this inspires the urge to flip on some sunglasses, don a Members Only Jacket, hop in a Ferrari, and go CRUISE.

Oh yeah

finally, I can listen to a Radiohead song without getting into some quasi-nihilistic funk
